myTransit - Boston app good for
I ride the 39 all the time, and this is super handy. No more waiting at cold bus stops for buses that never come! The fifth star will come when they fix some bugs.
I dont understand all the negative reviews. Works just fine for me (39 bus). The t only has a few routes available for tracking as of this writing but of course this app will become more useful once they make more routes available.
It comes with a live bus map, which is a wonderful and useful feature and is missing in other similar apps. However, it is somehow slow and crashes sometimes. It also doesnt show the correct direction of the bus on the road, and I hope this gets fixed in next updates.
Some bad moments
I deleted this app within 5 minutes of installing it. It has a terrible interface; and the overabundance of useless buttons is confusing.
For only 99 cents you can buy "CATCH THE BUS" which is clean, neat, and has the exact same info, but its layed out in an easy to navigate interface. Hooray!!!
Ad the route 52 and a lot of others useless unless u add routes
Excellent app.. I have paid 4 $ for mass transit for a copy paste from mtba web page.. With one free app I found the most important thing for me.. Live track of bus 39 !!!
Downloaded two weeks ago to track 77. Refresh works only sometimes, app crashes regularly, buses appear on map only sometimes, often indicates bus is at the stop NOW but no bus in sight for minutes. Im giving up and deleting. Dont waste your buck. Use the FREE "next bus" feature on MBTAs website instead.
This app worked fine at first...good accuracy, easy enough to use, only a few quirks.
But over the last few months the interface has broken down. Among other things, I can no longer find my nearest stop via the map (which makes it almost useless). Im giving up on it, just downloaded a different app.
As of July 2013, the app tells me that no busses are approaching my faved Boston stops for the #1 Bus line, even when buses are in view just down the street. This bug seems to not apply to Cambridge stops of the same bus line. Perhaps the MBTA has changed how it distributes the data and the app needs to be updated. As it is now myTransit has become unusable for me, so Im going to try other apps that track T busses.
